“When I ordered the Keto-Mojo, I really was not sure what to expect from the testing. After about 6 days, my ketones actually have risen (0.7) to show a ketosis activity in my blood. FINALLY!! “The app that you use with the meter is very clunky and has limited features unless you pay for the monthly subscription. It doesn't sync automatically so you have to open up the app and click the sync button and you have to make sure the meter is on or the app isn't able to connect to it for syncing. It's a pretty awkward setup, not very modern or user friendly. Although I do have to say I like the light that comes on to illuminate the test strip when you insert it into the meter. That's one positive feature.”
“purchased a GK+ Blood Glucose & Ketone Meter Kit - promo bundle, and began using it a week ago. I watched all of the videos they provided on YouTube and those of other users. Learned how to easily calibrate the meter (just did it again today with no problem). Everyone said “keep the box” because the calibration info is on the box. So, I kept the box.
I have never used any sort of blood monitor and was not looking forward to poking my fingers. Once I watched enough videos I did it. There were lots of helpful hints I found, like be hydrated to ensure blood flow.
I had a couple questions that I emailed to customer service and was quickly helped.
The bundle I purchased had everything I needed to get started, so it was an easy transition. I heard about this meter on Youtube from Dr Annette Bozworth (Dr Boz). I wanted to get both the glucose and keto readings like she did, as the videos she makes are successfully guiding me through my weight loss journey.
I love that the meter charts the numbers on a graph as well as a list. The chart visual is so encouraging as it easily demonstrates my successes.
I was using the Keto-Mojo Ketone Urine Test Strips for a few months and can attest that it is pretty nice to see the little pad turn pink, or even purple! After time, I became curious about my glucose reading and the number of ketones inside me. I am still using the strips in between blood pricks to see if I’m still making ketones. Not that I need to, but it is encouraging and kinda fun.
About the dreaded poke. I was really surprised at how tough my fingers are, so had to go to highest number on the lancet device. I tended to jerk in anticipation of the poke, so that was not helpful. Any problems I had were around my hesitation poking myself. I’m pretty OK with it now, thank goodness.
It really is better when I don’t flinch. Just takes practice. Lancet device is easy to operate and easy to clean.
I am more than pleased with the reasonable price, at the way the meter works, availability of customer service assistance, the written and video instructions and the overall experience of tracking the internal workings of my body.”
“So far so good. I'm happy to give it five stars because I really think it's worth it. The app that is free that comes with it seems to also be real good. I will change my rating down to one star if I find out that they are doing anything with the data. I hope not. But it is really convenient. And I'm really glad to have this. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is how hard it is to open the test strips. That's not easy. Otherwise everything is fantastic. And that's not much of a negative.”
“DON'T BUY IT! Very little regard for the customer. Here is what I went through and Keto-Mojo doesn't want to refund anything. Not even 30 days. First just to understand, the different accounts and the setup was took several days. The control test is bogus. I read all the material on the box and the test strip package, and nothing about the ranges for solution level 2. I had to go to the videos to know the ranges were at the bottom of the boxes. On top of that, I’m somehow methodical in tracking my readings. See the picture above. I can understand not all glucometers will give the same reading, but the keto mojo is constantly 20 to 30 points about two others I have in the house.”
