COLOR & CARE DUO Ash Brown / Color Care Reviews

4.2 Rating 27 Reviews
I tried the Ash Brown color for my husband and After three times apply still not cover his gray hair and the hair looks dry. I don't know if it is because the color didn't suit him or anything else, however I love Khadi rose body oil.

I really wasnā€™t enjoying the texture or look of my gray hair. The traditional dyes I used when I was younger werenā€™t giving me the coverage I wanted and I didnā€™t like the look. This builds my hairā€™s strength, evens the texture, and looks more natural than chemical dyes.

The ash brown is a TRUE level 4 ash without a hint of red, just what I was hoping for and absolutely beautiful. When mixed, the paste is much smoother and creamier than other brands of henna I've tried, and I personally like the smell - especially compared to the horrible smell of chemical dyes! The only tricky part was the application - it was difficult to spread evenly to make sure all strands were coated, but that's true of all hennas. To avoid the mistake I made (trying to spread it around haphazardly with my hands), I highly recommend sectioning your hair. I already purchased more dye to even out my mistakes, and I'm excited to try this method. Overall, I'm really impressed with the results!

Hi Gillian, We are thrilled that you love our Ash Brown hair color. An application tip is to ensure the mixture is creamy and about the consistency of yogurt, then apply it to damp, towel-dried hair. Warmest regards, The khadi Natural Cosmetics team

I use it with the color prep, keep color prep for 2 hr, and keep the color paste for about 2.5 hr. I followed the exact suggested temp on the instruction (temperature adjustable pour over kettle came in super handy). However I use 127g water to 50g powder, found that it is a more applicable paste texture. Itā€™s been 2 weeks after I colored my hair, Iā€™m happy with how the color hold up and the color turn out on my grey hair, and gave my black hair a tint of brownish highlight. (My hair type is Asian black hair, with some grey) I applied the color care 1 hr before I wash the hair and so far I think Khadi hair color fade slower than other henna indigo I had use. Overall Iā€™m really happy with the result, how the color looks and how my hair feels afterward.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience. We also have found that the water may need to be adjusted depending on factors like the outside temperature or humidity. We recommend adding water slowly until you get a creamy mixture. We're glad that you found the best consistency for your hair color. Best Regards, khadi Natural Cosmetics Team

This is by far the best Henna based dye Iā€™ve used! I highly recommend it. I used the ash brown and so satisfied with the results. However, Iā€™m definitely going to use the the colour prep next time for deeper root colour as Iā€™ve almost totally grey hair in roots and even though it dyed my roots but if I see them very closely, the roots are slightly lighter then the rest of the hair. Which Khadi highly recommended to use before actual dye. Overall, I would definitely continue using it, it leaves such a pretty smell and makes your hair shiny. Loved the oil as well!

Hi Tooba, We're thrilled you found khadi to be the best henna-based color line out there! We're positive that you'll love your color even more when you use our color primer- Color Prep, before coloring your hair with our Ash Brown shade the next time! Here's a tip- Increase the processing time of Color Prep to 90-120 minutes if you have resistant hard-to-cover grays. Best Regards, khadi Color Crew Team

I sent email already, no response. The mask and shampoo are great. The hair dye is horrible! Not enough directions..a total messy disaster..no applicators and it's HARD to apply..its impossible ..very disappointing

Covered gray beautifully. The process takes time, applying mixture is time consuming, but the results are worth it. Hair is shiny and healthy, gray coverage is perfect! Going to continue using this product!

Hi Natalya, We appreciate your honest thoughts! Our plant-based hair color process is more time-consuming than coloring with traditional synthetic hair dyes; we're glad you agree it's worth the extra effort and time based on the outcome! Best Regards, khadi Color Crew Team
