“Color seems long lasting and overall seems to improve hair strength. It’s a bit light for covering my few grey strands. It looks a bit more like light brown against my dark brown hair which is a bit frustrating. I will continue to use though as it gives enough of a color to make me comfortable with the few greys showing through. Not sure how it would work for a full head of greys though. Overall, satisfied but would like it to be dark brown, not light brown. I used with color prep.”

We're here to help you get that perfect coverage! Try the following if you haven't done so already. These tips and tricks guarantee optimal gray coverage!
1. Let the Color Prep process for 120 minutes instead of 60 minutes. You can also let Color Prep develop for 24 hours, and then the following day, color your hair with our Dark Brown shade.
2. Mix in a tablespoon or two of our Black shade, as this will provide more depth.

“Not quite as intense as a chemical dye in terms of color change, but I wanted to deepen my natural color and it did the trick. I will have to reapply in a few weeks to hopefully get the color to deepen on my grays, but overall a good product albeit a bit pricey.”

To intensify your color with khadi, you can color all over more than once! Doing so will not cause damage or have a harsh effect on your hair as traditional synthetic hair colors do, as it's all natural and free of chemicals!

“Khadi comes to me highly recommended by a trusted friend. The process is slow. The first time I mixed it too thin, and dripped the entire time (1 hour). The second time I mixed too thick. I am hoping to do it right the third time :)
My hair is dark brown. I bought the "Dark Brown", the Hair Oil, and the Detox Mask. It did not cover my gray hair, it turned it a lighter shade. My hair looks good, natural and healthy. I will leave longer next time (90 min). The smell is strong, and earthy, but tolerable. It does not stain your scalp. I will keep on using it.”

Our process for coloring is on the slower side, when compared to what most individuals are used to with traditional synthetic hair coloring. However, we feel and so do many in the khadi community that the extra time spent is worth the incredible results, especially because it's so much better for the hair and the environment!
Here's a few tips that we hope will come in handy next time you color!
When mixing your color slowly pour in the water. This will prevent color mixture from getting too thin or too thick, but instead will be the perfect consistency.
Many in our khadi community find that doubling the recommended processing time works for covering up those resistant grays. Another option is to use our Color Prep before coloring with your khadi Natural Hair Color of choice.
