Hi Marisa,
Color Prep is the best for covering up grays and providing the best gray coverage. Only some of our shades require Color Prep; our color chart indicates which shades require additional use.

“I am loving the entire Khadi line. I had a lot of hair fallout last year and moved to 100% natural hair products. Tried other henna dyes, but Khadi's line has worked best. The process is a bit long, but it is worth it! My hair has become stronger, healthier, and the dye looks so natural. I use Color Prep before my dye color since I have dark brown hair, and I'm trying to dye my greys. I leave it in for 120 min, then rinse out and use the color which I leave on overnight.”
“I used this to cover my grey/white hair in the front before I used the Khadi Blue Black. (I have very dark hair) and I worried that it would make all my cool dark hair look warm and strange, but I should not have worried. It just coloured my greys a sort of yellowy/orange colour, and then that got covered over by the blue black. It is an extra step but it's totally worth it to not be soaking your head with dangerous chemicals every few weeks!”
Hello there,
Thank you for using our Color Prep before coloring your hair with your desired khadi shade.
If the Color Prep isn't fully covering up your grays, try increasing the processing time from 60 to 120 minutes. The extra processing time should effectively cover up resistant grays.

“I am beyond happy & excited to have found Khadi. I had trouble keeping the water at the temp specified for my desired hair color but my color still looks nice. I plan on purchasing more products soon. Thank you Khadi !!!”
