“I am guessing that demand for this product has been high of late. When I first bought it I received some really nice straight cut equal length pieces of kindling and no bark. This would get a5 start reading. My latest order I received various lengths all rough cut and with bark on. Some of it looked like the scrapinsg off the floor from splitting larger logs (which it probably was). The product just wasnt up to the same standard as before. I am guessing this is due to demand?”

Hi Matthew, thanks for your review. We have changed our supply due to too many complaints on the straight cut kindling. The old supply was waste from a sawmill, hence the straight cuts and no bark, whereas now we split oak logs into kindling. This is why it has bark and doesn't look like the old supply. This will continue to be our supply, it's not a temporary fix due to high demand.

“I ordered 2 bags for use in my Ooni Karu pizza oven. Delivery was fantastic and the wood is very good quality and burns long hot and clean, however there were a few issues, the wood i received spits a small amount and some of the edges were painted red or black. It was all equal in length but varies a lot in width.”

Thanks Jason for your review and glad you were happy with how the kindling burns! The paint on the end is from the sawmill we source the wood from, the paint is also water-based. As it's a waste material, we unfortunately can't guarantee all the wood is the same width.
