Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer Reviews

4.5 Rating 262 Reviews
I have had this thermometer for a little over two years. I got it when I was expecting my first chI'd. It has been so helpful. it's so easy to use and only takes a couple seconds which is nice when trying to take a temperature on a baby or wiggly toddler. Customer support is great. I had an issue with connecting to the app and they responded back very quickly and got it fixed. I love that you can keep track of your whole family?s symptoms in the app. it's also easy to throw in the diaper bag when you are on the go.

The thermometer is easy to use and accurate. I love how it's connected to the app, and provides useful info on how to handle fever based on temperature and symptoms along with keeping track.

I received a Kinsa Smart Stick thermometer as a baby shower gift and absolutely LOVED it. The readings were accurate and the app was wonderfully helpful with tracking temperatures and giving great advice about how to proceed based on temperature readings. As our baby grew, it became difficult to take her temperature under her arm, so it was a no-brainer that I would purchase the Kinsa Smart Ear thermometer to make temperature taking easier. However, upon using the Smart Ear thermometer, it became clear quite quickly that the temperature readings are not often accurate. Often the thermometer would read very high or very low. I would use my Smart Stick I'mediately after and get a reading that was felt more accurate and very different from the reading on the Smart Ear. As a result, we have stopped using the Smart Ear and are only using the Smart Stick. My other issue is that the Smart Ear makes a beeping noise in order to turn it on and then take the temperature, which isn't great when your chI'd is sleeping.

I love this thermometer! We had trI'd the forehead ones before and it'seemed like we had to do it 4-5 times before we got any number tradings that were even close to each other. The Kinsa thermometer is awesome though. The app is nice for tracking purposes, but even without it it's amazing. It reads super fast and once you get used to what the beeps mean you don't even really have to look. One beep is normal temp, two beeps is a fever.

Easy to use ear thermometer. The ability to connect to the app helps keep track of your chI'd's temperature. I'do fI'd that sometimes it isn?t 100% accurate. Sometime if I take it twice I will get 2 different reads. Once in a while I will get a very low temperature which always seems odd. Battery life seems to be pretty good. It is easy to wipe clean. My chI'dren don't seem to mI'd ya taking their temperature when we use the Kinsa Ear Thermometer.

I really like this thermometer, and do feel like it's a nice quality, but sometimes I have a hard time getting an accurate reading with my toddlers, I think just because their ears are so small and getting it in there just right is trickier. However, it is very quick to take a reading, and as my kids get older I'definitely think it will be great for getting a temp quickly. I thought the app was really easy to get set up and use, I love that it'stores the info for each kid and you can go back and see what time you took each reading and what it was, and you can also put in other info, like what time you gave meds, so you can go back and check later, this is especI'lly handy if you have multiple sick kids and you're trying to keep track of who had what temps and what time each kid can have more meds.

As a first time mom, when registering for baby items this was easily an item at the top of my list when comparing thermometers and I thought I would love this product. Unfortunately after using it, I feel like the product is only average and would not necessarily feel compelled to purchase again. We have had this product for 2 years now. Some pros I have found: - I like the simple and easy to understand readings and incorporation of the smiley/frown face -Battery life has been good Some cons I have found: -The thermometer is rated for all life stages from baby to adult however the ear piece seems large for a baby's ears. My son is now 2 years old and it'still seems large and awkward to get in his ear. I feel like this has limited the ability to get an accurate temperature reading -I like that it is a quick read temperature but also feel like because of this, we do not always get an accurate reading. For instance, if we check multiple times within a few minute perI'd, we frequently get varying temperatures which makes me think even more the readings are not always accurate I also initI'lly liked the fact that it'syncs info to the app however I admittedly have not used this feature at all. I think in the case your chI'd is sick for an extended time, gets sick often, or you have multiple chI'dren sick then it may be helpful for tracking purposes but we have not had a need for this. I think this feature is a nice addition and not a necessity. Due to these cons, we ended up purchasing a second thermometer and now prefer the forehead style for my son. We do use the Kinsa still for us (as parents' but it does not meet the need for what we intended. I would love if Kinsa makes a combination one (ear/forehead) that may solve some of these issues and be better sized for newborn/little ones ears.
