“I was given the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This thermometer is really neat because it connects to the Kinsa app on your phone. The thermometer was really easy to set up. It actually took longer to open the batteries than it did to get the thermometer and app set up. Once you create an account, you can add a profile for each person that you want to measure on the app. My 4 year old had fun selecting her avatar (a unicorn) and we put in her birthday. The thermometer was easy enough for her to use and it made it easy for me to take her temperature as well. The app is also really easy to use. There were a few times I got an error message on the thermometer and it said something about a hardware update but it wasn't a constant problem. My favorite part of the app was being able to track the temperatures for each person. Luckily we were all healthy when using this, but it would be really useful if your child was sick so you could see how their temperature has gone up and down. I also felt like the thermometer was reliable. All in all I would recommend this product as it is easy to use and the app helps you keep track.”

With COVID and the pandemic it has been a fight to constantly check my three year old's temperature. This is the only thermometer that I have been able to use on my son and trust me I have bought a lot over the last year. No only does he sit still for me to check, but it is so easy to use he enjoys checking my temperature as well. I also love the app and that I am able to track my child's temperature on a regular basis. While it would be nice if there was an option to check forehead as well, overall this is a great option and I would highly recommend it for those with young children.”
“This is the absolute easiest thermometer I've ever used. By easy, I mean you literally put it in one ear and within a second you get a temperature reading. The best of this thermometer is the app - I was able to create profiles for all three of my children and even myself. Everything stays tracked directly on the app. The app also includes a "Local Illness Risk" indicator, which shows you the risk of COVID plus other common colds and flu in your area. Usually they take forever and most of the time because my child moves from being impatient I feel like I never get the right temp. NOT WITH THIS!! This thermometer is the best there is- hands down. It's super light, easy to use, no plastic things to change at the end and the app is genius! I used to put the temperatures in my notes in my phone and it was a pain. The app stores all the info for you! As a mom, that's a huge win. The thermometer takes the temp is less than a second and it super accurate. I've never been happier to have tested a product like this, if you're a mom- you must buy it!”
“I love this thermometer. First of all, it is extremely fast, which is critical when you have small children who don't want to sit still to get their temperature taken. It also doesn't require probe covers, which is wonderful, because who wants to go searching for probe covers that got lost somewhere when your kiddo is feeling lousy (and who really wants to have to buy new probe covers when you run out? What a pain). The app is very easy to use and will give you age-specific information regarding whether you should be concerned about a temperature reading. It also stores the temperature readings so you can refer back to them and don't have to write them down anywhere. AND it allows you to enter associated symptoms when you take a temperature, and also allows you to set reminders. I think the only downfall is that you do seem to need the app to get it up and running, so it's probably not a good option for someone without a smart phone. Overall, I love this product and highly recommend it!

“I'm a mom of 3 kids ages 5 and under, so needless to say, we are exposed to a lot of yuck. Taking temperatures has always been a struggle, especially for my 2 year old who struggles with recurring ear infections. He doesn't want anything near his ear for longer than 2 seconds and ear thermometers in the past have been bothersome for him, especially during infections.
Thanks to the Stellar Review Panel, we were able to try this Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer and its been amazing. It is insanely fast to read temperatures, even during infections and it closely matched temperatures taken on other thermometers. I found it to be a great size and easily fit in my 5 year old, 2 year old, and 5 month old's ear. I love that it doesn't require any plastic disposable cover like others we have used in the past.
I think the game changer for me was the app. It is really simple to set up and navigate (it took me about 3 minutes to set up everyone's profile) and I love that it customizes recommendations based on the age of the child and the other symptoms. Since I have an infant, that feature is my favorite because my threshold for seeking care is lower for my 5 month old than my 5 year old.
I also really love that it records records of medications given. The timeline on the app is a great visual to see when/if temperatures begin to change and if symptoms are resolving.
Perhaps my only downside to this is that it relies on batteries. We don't always have batteries on hand, and it would be great if Kinsa had a rechargeable option for this thermometer.
Overall, we really love this product and will not go back to our other thermometer!”
“This is by far the best thermometer I have used. It takes the temps of my 2yr old and 4yr old SO quickly, they don't have time to be annoyed at me! I've compared the temps in this thermometer to the one used at my pediatrician's office, and it was exactly the same. Seeing that made me feel so confident in the ability to detect any fevers.
The app is an amazing resource, with lots of tips for caring for a sick child, as well as showing what illnesses are going around in your area. Honestly, the app is what made this thermometer so amazing. I will never go back to my old thermometer!

“Holy smokes this product is amazing! As a mom of two, an ear thermometer is a must in my medicine cabinet. This thermometer though is far superior to any I have ever used before. It is like the Apple of thermometers! It links up to an app which allows you to create an avatar for each of your kids. When you use it to take your kids temperature it immediately displays the results on the thermometer and in the app. The app then asks you if your child is experiencing any other symptoms and assists to advise you from there. You are able to save temperature readings and review them when necessary as well as share them via email, text, etc. Additionally, you can keep track of when you gave medication, set reminders, make notes, enter a diagnosis, and input symptoms as they arise. Aside from the incredible technical specs it is extremely user friendly, has a beautiful design (I love the cap on the top to keep the piece you place in your ear clean), and is amazingly affordable. My favorite feature though is how fast it works. Nothing is worse than struggling to take the temperature of a kid who is sick and fussy. The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer works almost instantly. Literally once you place it in the ear within approximately 2 seconds you have the reading and it's super accurate! I am so thankful I got to test this amazing product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is definitely going to be my go to from now on when I have to take my children's or my own temperature.”
