Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer Reviews

4.6 Rating 407 Reviews
I've always kI'd of thought a basic thermometer is good enough, but the perks of the Kinsa have changed my mI'd. The number one thing I like about the Kinsa is how fast it reads your temperature. I have another thermometer that is a ?quick read? but the Kinsa far surpasses it in how fast it takes the temperature. Having a baby and toddler, this is a huge benefit as they are so squI'my. My toddler also loves watching the little elephant on the app as she waits for her temperature reading. The other benefits that make me feel like the perks are worth getting the Kinsa instead of a standard thermometer are the app that tracks everything for you. The app was easy to install and use and allows you to track temp as well as if the temp was oral, under arm, or rectal. You can'track symptoms and easily switch between family members. There is also a quick link to check illness concerns for your local area. The thermometer itself is reliable, lightweight, and has an easy to read screen. It also comes with a small zipper bag for storage. In a time where we are taking temperatures often, this is a thermometer I would definitely recommend. I received the Kinsa for free as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.

This thermometer is amazing. First, in a time when temperature taking is EVEN MORE imperative than before, it is great to have a reasonably priced, accurate option like the Kinsa. My son gets fevers relatively frequently and my husband and I are not both always around when we take his temp and administer medicine. We usually text one another the temp and the time.... not with the Kinsa! We both have access to the app and can easily check and remember what the temp was and when it was last taken. The thermometer is SO quick! I feel like I wait for minutes with our other thermometers. And with a general sense of what our typical temperatures are, I fI'd the others to frequently be inaccurate. Major frustration! I am so excited to have received this as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and cannot wait to make it my only thermometer in the house!

I received the Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'm a mother of 2 young chI'dren and fI'd this thermometer extremely helpful. Temperature reading is very fast with a big bright screen and if that didn't distract the kI'dos already, the app has an elephant with the loading bar that further distracts while waiting for their temp to be read. The thermometer is made out of a flexible silicone and does not need the app to function. The app is very easy to set up, and comes with a good amount of helpful functions including symptom checker, diagnoses, medication remI'ders, etc. which I think is really neat. You are able to save temperatures and other information. I love the follow up props after temperature reading regarding symptoms. I would definitely recommend this product even if you have an existing thermometer especI'lly if you like to self diagnose or overthink sickness symptoms.

If you're anything like me, you're likely intrigued by the smart component of this thermometer, but also a bit turned off by the idea of having yet another product (potentI'lly) collecting data about you and your family. I received this Kinsa Quickcare thermometer to test through the Stellar Product Test Panel and didn't know in advance that it would be a ?smart? thermometer. I wasn?t sure what to think when I received it. I was initI'lly a little miffed that it was seemingly forcing me to download the app even though the box acted like it was recommended but not required (the word ?app? flashes on the thermometer until you download and connect it) but later learned by searching the the Kinsa website that you can bypass this by turning on the thermometer and quickly double clicking the power button! I appreciate that the company gives consumers the option, although I wish they included this in the instructions. That said, I actually ended up loving the app and fI'ding it incredibly useful. You can create profiles for each of your chI'dren (or adults!) to track their temperatures and other symptoms. I felt like the information asked for was pertinent to what the app was trying to accomplish and didn't feel like they were asking for anything invasive. They do ask for date of birth, but use that along with the temperature to give recommendations about when to be concerned and what to watch for. Since recommendations do change based on age, especI'lly for infants, this is very relevant. I likely won't leave the app on my phone all the time (who needs more apps taking up space?!) but will likely re-download and log in when my kids are sick so I can'track their temperatures and share info with their doctors. There were a couple of other features that I absolutely loved about this thermometer, too: 1) The display lights up, which is awesome. So often people feel their worst and temperatures are highest in the evening and yet you can never read the temp unless you turn on the light...this display is so easy to read in the dark! 2) It is so fast! The box says that it can get a result in as little as 8 seconds. I initI'lly didn't think that sounded very quick, but when we trI'd it, I was amazed! Most of the time it was even quicker and when my son and I ?raced? our digital thermometers, this one won by at least a minute! Both of my kids hate getting their temperatures taken, so every second counts. 3) I love the flexible probe. My kids are always grabbing the thermometer from me and I'm always a little nervous they are going to puncture the back of their throat or poke out an eye. I love that this is soft and flexible. I can't speak a ton to the accuracy, as this thermometer did not read the same as any of our other ones (they all read differently!) but this one is very consistent to itself which I can't say for our others. It read the same temperature when taken repeatedly and our ear and forehead thermometers read all over the map when used back to back, so I feel pretty comfortable in trusting this thermometer?s readings. In all, I think this thermometer is well worth the price even if you decide not to use the app but is an even better value if you do because it has some great features!

I have a 4-year-old, 3-year-old, and a newborn. We use thermometers around here often. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was really happy with this product. Since it was so quick to test temperature, I tested with two other thermometers I had laying here and all three got the same temperature every time. So I would trust this thermometer to be reliable and accurate when checking my sick chI'd's temperature. It took the kids' temperatures quickly and was easy to read with not only having a bigger screen and numbers but also has a smiley face/sad face if the temperature is normal/high. My kids loved that feature along with the backlight screen of green (normal temp) or red (high temp) so they could tell me if they had a temperature without actually reading the numbers. I used the thermometer with and without the app. The app was very easy to use and navigate and enter different profiles in. Once I connected the thermometer to the app, I struggled a little bit on how to get it to work without the app as at first, it kept giving me an error code. So I would suggest before you have sick kids in the mI'dle of the night to get very familiar with how to use it'so you don't always have to have your phone or tablet nearby to take a temperature. My favorite feature of the app is that they give you insight into what to do with the symptoms and temperatures you have entered. I know even as a thI'd-time mom sometimes it's hard to decide if it's a simple cold or something more so it's nice to see what the app recommends before making your own decision. Overall, I think this is a great thermometer and a great app and would definitely recommend it to my friends with little ones, especI'lly ones that hate having their temperatures taken.

We have two toddlers...pre-pandemic they were always sick from regular ol' daycare germies. So that being said, our family is well versatile in thermometers and hands down the Kinsa thermometer is the easiest, fastest and most convenient thermometer we have used. The app was very ease to download and navigate. My kids liked how flexible (they both said "soft") the tip of the thermometer was when measuring their temps and both told me they prefer this flexible tip over our other "hard" thermometers. It is super simple to pair the thermometer with your phone and I never knew I needed to have a thermometer that helps track temperature history...but now I'don't want to not have that feature. Pre-Kinsa, I was manually storing temperatures in the notes app on my phone...the Kinsa way is so much more efficient and I have easily switch between the 3 profiles I have set up in the app (myself and the kids). If the thermometer registers a temperature the app will prompt you to answer if you have any other symptoms. The app also provides guidance on what you should do at various temperatures. Wish I had known about this product earlier in parenthood! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this thermometer!

I have five kids, ages 3-14, and when one of them gets sick, it's almost a given that a second sickness follows. A fast, accurate thermometer is a must have in our house. The Kinsa Smart Thermometer gives a reliable reading within 10 seconds. This is very helpful for the younger, more squI'my kI'dos. I also downloaded the app that goes with it and it is very user friendly and provides a great way to track your chI'd's temperature throughout their sickness. In the time we have had this, none of my kids have been sick, but I love that they can each have an I'dividual profile to track their symptoms and temperature. While I love this product, I have two cons, one that's not such a big deal and one that matters more for me, personally. The Kinsa allows you to take your temperature either orally, rectally, or under the armpit. it's a preference in our house to use the armpit method and when you do that, you add a degree to the temperature to make it accurate. Since you can I'dividually select the method under each temperature reading, it would make sense to automatically add this degree under the armpit one, BUT the Kinsa App does not do this. So when the temperature is tracked, it is always a degree lower and you have to remember to mentally raise it one. Secondly and more importantly for me, I'do NOT like that I have no say on whether or not the information I am gathering about my family members in the app can be used to gather data as a part of sharing 'population health insights'. These are terms in their Privacy Policy that you have to agree to in order to use the app. For me, this violates our rights to privacy surrounding our health care and status of our health. I'don't want my or my family's information being used for data and statistics gathered about our county and I'don't want anyone having access to that personal information. This is definitely a personal preference for our family and doesn't detract from the accuracy of this thermometer, I just won't be using the app. Overall, I give this thermometer 2 stars. We can do without all of the fancy stuff and even do without the tracking of information. We just need something that is fast and accurate. Also, this is Made in China and we try to avoid buying anything made there. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me this thermometer to try!

All I can say is I WISH the Kinsa thermometer had been around 12 years ago when I had my first baby! If you have a sick little one and need to keep track of temperatures, this thermometer is for you! It quickly and accurately measures body temperature via oral, under arm, or rectal and has a soft flexible tip. The app is free to use and very simple to set up. It took me less than 5 minutes to set up profiles for each of my 5 chI'dren. You do not need to be tech savvy at all to set the app up and sync the thermometer, it practically does it itself. I popped the thermometer in my daughter's mouth and voila, her reading of 98.2 appeared on my phone within seconds and the app automatically records and stores the info. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the pediatricians office or at the ER and get asked "when did the fever start?" or "when did the fever spike?" or "how long has he/she had these symptoms?"....and I have to guess. I absolutely love that this app stores and graphs your chI'dren's temperatures for you and that it's so simple and comprehensive to use. Being able to make notes of symptoms and having an automatic time stamp is so helpful for tired moms and dads with sick chI'dren. Thank you Kinsa for this awesome product! Thank you to Steller Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Kinsa thermometer in exchange for my honest review.
