“I used to love these. Love love these. They were out of stock for a few months and I was saddened to realise they may have been discontinued. Popping into a store recently, quietly hopeful that an old packet had been found in a storeroom somewhere and made it’s way to the shelf so I could have one final time to enjoy these - I was delighted to find a whole row of shiny new nougat packages! It turns out that they changed the recipe and there was a period in which they were out of stock during the transition. Hooray! Bought several packages.
I don’t think the recipe is as nice - less pistachios and the nougat isn’t as chewy - but maybe chewy is difficult to quality control and pistachios are expensive.
Sad, but let’s be grateful they still exist right? No.
Probably six in each packet have this absolutely hideous smokey flavour to it. Like the recipe is meant to have a hint of smoke but the liquid smoke didn’t mix in properly and I just ingested a glob of it and will now have this wretched taste in my mouth even after I brushed my teeth to try and get rid of it. Disappointing.”
