Hold with one hand and lean slightly forwards over the aerator so that you can apply gently downward pressure on the shaft with the other hand. Now walk forwards and aerate. At the end of the run, pull it up and DROP it into position for the next run (watch your toes though); this sticks it well into the lawn ready to aerate....it's that simple.TIP: If you've got a lot of lawn to do cut some foam pipe insulation and cover the handle - very comfy

easy to assemble.could probably do with being a bit heavier on the roller to help with ground penetration.would recommend soaking the lawn first.

Takes a bit of time to put together (each spike has to be fitted and tightened individually) but easy to use and goes to a good depth on the lawn.

very sharp spikes so had to make a box to store it safely. works well on well watered turf.

Used aerator to prepare lawn for over seeding & it performed very well. Depending on soil type I would mention that users need to be reasonably fit especially on large areas.

A bit of hard work but very manageable. I am a short person so I removed one of the 3 pieces that make up the handle. I joined the other 2 sections with a round pole and some screws. This provided greater downward pressure and made the aeration much easier.

Aerator itself works well however three of the nylon lock nuts did not tighten up successfully which meant that they were loose on the rollers which sadly tears up the lawn due to the angle they are going into the soil. Should include spares in the package. Also the supplied spanner is pretty much useless as it barely gripped the nuts when tightening.Had these two things not happened I would have given 5 stars.
