This is a good product but I have a 66m2 lawn and the spread is too much for that. Good product but for a bigger lawn.

I have had a cheap push along spreader for many years and almost always end up over applying the fertiliser and scorching the grass in at least one place. Also my lawn is like 2 interlocking circles rather than a rectangle and the wheeled spreaders work best I feel with straight lines! When I looked on the Lawnsmith site I was very pleased to be able to see a number of tutorial videos that demonstrated various fertiliser spreaders. I was impressed with the Earthway Super Shoulder spreader which is a little more expensive then other hand operated spreaders but feels like a quality well made product. In reality it takes a little practice to get used to the spread the speed of walking and handle turning to get the right concentration of fertiliser. I found the best way was to calculate how much I needed weigh it out then divide it up into 4 smaller lots and apply by walking over the same area in 4 different directions to get a nice even spread. My lawn is about 140m2 and the whole process took less than 15 minutes.

Best way of spreading I have ever used.

It is as Lawnsmith said easy to use and very light. I have not quite managed to use it in as disciplined a fashioned as the Lawnsmith in the videos but this is because I need more practice not the fault of the shoulder bag.

Excellent - tricky to assemble but instructions better than Ikea - need to practice using it though as settings are very sensitive

Used the spreader for the first time and it was very easy and comfortable to manage. I would have preferred to see the settings required for the fertilizer purchased. Unfortunately I over spread and burnt some of the lawn but I will know better next time.

After spreading by hand in the past initially difficult to get used to the width of spread in front & either side. May limit its usefulness on some of our smaller odd shaped lawns but good & very much quicker on the tennis court area.
