Really bright and the batteries last ages with the built in timer on slow flashing mode. Lovely.

We have them strung over a beech hedge, and they look lovely...just bright enough without being garish. The string was long enough to loop them and still cover about 25 feet. They switch themselves on every night and then off again 6 hours later, which means we have nothing further to do.

Set them up, press timer and leave to work. Great inexpensive set out lights for outdoors or indoors.
