Twice I have fired this starter pistol after a full reload, and ALL 8 OF THE BLANKS went off! I t could be malfunctioning blanks, but I have experienced several mechanical device misfires as well.

This is a good starter pistol for dog training. It came well oiled. It's got a nice weight in your hand yet not heavy. Dogs definitely respond well to this, just fire the pistol and they're off...

Bought 2 for a hunt test to use for a few young puppies. They both fell apart, judges kept putting back together but kept falling apart, having to find pieces in the grass. Hopefully the more expensive ones are more reliable.

I thought that the first one was just a fluke (it fell apart in my hands after firing it twice). I ordered another one specifically for hunt tests that I participate in. I fired this one once and it was fine. The 2nd shot jammed, the 3rd shot jammed (not a good thing when a shot has to be fired for a dog's point to count in a hunt test). I emptied the chamber and tried again and 2 more shots jammed. I give up. I didn't want to spend $300+ on a starter pistol that I only use twice every year, but that is what I am going to have to do. I do not recommend this pistol at all. You might as well send Lion the money for it and let them keep the pistol for the number of shots you will get. Apparently you get what you pay for with this one.

Works like a $30 starter pistol should. Very hard trigger occasional miss fires. But again you get what you pay for.

The cylinder spins freely so after a shoot and holstering the starter pistol, the next trigger pull may or may not be on a live round. Bang or click, who knows!
