The OvaView LED battery powered egg candling lamp including the matching OvaScope viewer. The OvaView is a purpose designed battery powered egg candler using a high output rugged LED to illuminate the contents of the egg. The OvaScope shrouds the egg and OvaView and magnifies the image of the illuminated egg making examination of the growing embryo much easier and without having to dim the room lighting. There is a lug on each side of the eyepiece tube so that a typical webcam can be held in place using an elastic band (see the instruction leaflet for more details). Your webcam will need to have focus adjustment to ensure you get a good image of the embryo. The OvaScope makes candling much easier and is ideal for schools or for presentations. “As it only just arrived today I can't review it completely, but I put a light-shelled egg into it and the view was extremely good. I then tried a dark-shelled egg (a Welsummer) and the view was just as good! I can't wait to candle my eggs when the time comes.”

“Wow! Amazing product. Got it for my difficult to candle guinea fowl eggs. Can see very early on too. Excellent clear images. Would definitely recommend this product.”

“I have used intensity light candlers and I think they are better in terms of visibility but the overscope definately helps darker eggs like Marans. However the intensity candlers use up a lot more watts and cannot be moved from the socket. The good thing about the brinsea is that you can candle the eggs at the coop if your broody is sitting on them and the chance of dropping the egg is reduced. Overall, this has better pros”

“This is a great product. I only wish I had bought one earlier. I've been managing with a bright LED torch for years but the detail visible with the OvaView, especially when viewed through the OvaScope, is fantastic and very valuable when deciding whether an egg should be removed from the incubator. The OvaScope also makes it possible to view the eggs without darkening the room and moving to a dark corner. They can be viewed right next to the incubator, reducing the risk of dropping eggs in the dark. It's also possible to take it out to a coop and view the eggs from under a hen, without having to move them to a darkened room. Well worth the money. One downside - it's so fascinating you have to fight the temptation to look too often.”
