““LoBeams has completely changed my headlamp game. I work outside at night and I have to wear one for at least 8 hrs every day. The strap is comfortable and breathable, doesn’t stretch, and the reflectors are super cute.
The light itself is a nice off white, not too blue white like some headlamps. I really like that I can also pick my own color as one option and it shines a lighter version on my face during social mode so people can see me when I talk.
The battery lasts at least all night, and if I wore it in low mode would probably last two days. The charge time is quick as well compared to my other rechargeable headlamps.
It’s very lightweight; I barely notice it’s there. It doesn’t slide around even when I’m working hard.
I couldn’t be happier with it. Thank you LoBeams!””
“I spent the last two years designing and testing LoBeams. I'm proud of how it's working out. The most important thing I can say in a review of my own product is that it works well for mel. LoBeams is the kind of technology I want to be around: considerate not just of the primary user's needs, but of everyone around them. It works for several reasons: (1) we usually incline our head down while walking at night because we are looking at the ground ahead of us; (2) because our arms hinge at our shoulders and elbows, almost all human work occurs below eye level, so our head usually inclines down slightly when we manipulate objects (3) as social primates we stack our head neutrally on our spine when we relate socially, tracking the vertical movements of our peers with our eyes, but tracking the vertical movement of non-human objects with head inclination. This means that our default resting position is, usually, the same, regardless of the angle of our peers. And once you get the hang of it, it's easy to look someone in the eyes reliably with LoBeams without blinding them. The reflectivity of the band means that you're visible at night. The small red light pointing down illuminates just enough of your facial features to allow your peers to recognize you, but it's positioned close enough to the forehead that you yourself can't see it. So, it's a light for YOU that primarily: (1) doesn't blind the other people around you and (2) allows you to be seen. Finally, it's easy on the planet: there is no single-use plastic in the packaging and as simple untreated UV-printed cardboard it is easily recyclable in your LOCAL community. We cover the entirety of the lamp's CO2 impact and then some (10x). And of course it's recycle so no more throwing out batteries. I really believe there is magic in the outdoors and night and it's best when it's shared. I hope that LoBeams allows you to share more magic, nature and quality time with the people you love. Speaking of which, thank you Dorna (my twin sister) for coming up with the great name!”
