“Own the 79 and 811. 811 for Steelhead on a long line (16 foot Gaelforce rod matched with the Gaelforce 93 foot line), and 79 for trout and steelhead (14 foot Sage rod matched with a 60 foot dry line). Also have sinking tips and mid bellies for these reels. Have never come close to losing a good fish due to the reels' lack of performance. My 14 foot 7 wt Sage Spey Rod is dark - almost black - the reel matches color and more importantly - weight. Whether skating dries or swinging spey/soft hackle wet/ or bigger tube flies on the sink tips, the reels have performed very well for me.”
