“Opti NXT is a true switch rod, which differs from other Opti NXT series rods just in right places. The tip of the rod is so flexible that it makes it easy to shoot out the line even with single hand spey cast very easy. Also two hand back casting and scandi type casting works fine. #5 Opti switch replaced my single hand #6 totally.”

“Bought this to bridge the gap between my 9 foot 6 weight and 13 foot 8 weight. The intended purpose is to target sea trout as a trout spey rod and for summer grilse with surface flies. The rod is paired with a 300 grain skagit head and a set of 10 foot tips and tapered leaders. I can easily cast this the same distance as my 9 footer, and it's easy to wade and fish with it. I have not tried it on any rivers yet, but will give it a go once they open up here in Denmark. I've caught a few fish with already and the experience was lovely, the rod action is allowing enough bend so the fish stays hooked. Regarding casting into the wind, I haven't quite figured that out yet, but that's probably due to my casting skill. Overall if the guides were flexible I'd have given the rod 5 stars. Will definitly keep this in my quiver for a long time.”
