Hi Micheala, the type of exfoliation the pad gives is chemical exfoliation and not physical exfoliation — namely with the ingredient Salicylic Acid.
We actually do not recommend physical exfoliation as they can cause microtears in your skin causing skin sensitivity :(
We vouch for chemical exfoliation as it is highly effective in clearing acne as it removes dead skin, excess sebum, and dirt from deep within the pores. It also helps with better absorption of all skincare products and improves cell regeneration.
