“I've been an avid extension wearer for years and Luxy has always been my go-to. Over the past year, I've developed tension alopecia and lost the majority of hair from the lower part of my head (where the back wefts are typically clipped). Halo extensions seemed like the answer to all of my extension prayers:
- I'm able to apply them in 1/4 the time of traditional clip-ins which shortens my morning routine significantly.
- Two clips total that wouldn't bother/worsen my condition
- Because I have such fine, thin hair, I only need to worry about hiding the main weft vs a bunch of clips
I ordered the 180g set in Platinum and was in love the minute I removed them from the packaging. It only took two tries to learn how to properly place them and the result was gorgeous... Until the first time I wore them out. I had massive amounts of shedding. Gently running my fingers through the hair removed several strands every single time. Even when leaving them alone, my clothes were constantly covered in strands from the extensions. My car floor was covered in them as well. When I went out to eat the other day, I gently brushed my fingers through my hair and pushed it back. I had a wad of strands in my hand and I was mortified because the people next to me had noticed.
These extensions are gorgeous but the shedding is not only embarrassing but I question how long they're useable when they're losing grams of hair daily. I'm unable to go back to traditional clip-ins so unfortunately for now, I'm braving the public with my biggest insecurity and going out with my hair in a tiny ponytail. This isn't a knock to Luxy at all, I love them dearly and have purchased several sets. This is just a miss for me. I'm giving these three stars purely for the fact that if they hadn't shed, they would literally be my dream extensions.”
