Very impressed with this jacket. It feels so lightweight yet offers excellent insulation. Had my first winter ride in 5 degree weather with only a baselayer underneath and it kept me warm throughout. Fit is a bit on the tighter side but I don't mind. 173cm, 70kg, medium

Ive been road testing this jacket in some of Australias coldest climates for the last month and this review hopefully helps those who like me procrastinated for ages on what jacket to buy for winter. After researching for hours on online forums and short listing a number of jackets in this price range from the big four in riding, I made the decision to stick to my guns and back MAAP. This jacket can handle its own in sub zero temps through to 5-10 degrees on days where the ice is building up on your overshoes or the sun is a no show. You can layer it up or down depending on the weather and it provides a good level of breathability so that you can push for that KOM or just beating your mates on your local loop without overheating. Aesthetically, this jacket constantly turns heads and gets comments in coffee shops and on the road.

Highly recommended. Keeps you warm as the ride begins, and modulates your body heat in such a way that you wont be sweating/overheating mid-ride

Light fabric, often a winter jacket is uncuth and cubbish. But this one isn't! Breathable and keeps very warm. I've used it when the temperature was minus -5C. MAAP, keep up the good work!

This is a game changing product. Nothing comes close by comparison to design and craftsmanship. The outer layer blocks the cold out completely. Perfect to have when riding in sub 10 degree temperatures. There is no better substitute.

For those who feel the cold easily, this jacket will keep you warm. The XS is a fantastic, tight fit (i'm 158cm tall)- looking forward to give it a good test in the upcoming winter months.

I just wore the Apex for the first time on a cold November ride in Ontario, Canada. Story short, it was incredible. The elements might have been extreme than those the Apex was designed for, but in the face of -15 degrees and a 30km/h northern (ie colder) headwind, the jacket more than stood up to the weather conditions. Layered over a MAAP base layer and Encore long sleeve jersey, with a neck warmer on top, the jacket stopped the wind like a barrier. I could feel the strong wind pushing me around but the coldness didnt penetrate at all. When I got back after my ride, I saw that all the moisture that had wicked to the surface had turned into ice pellets. So I was kept warm and dry. This has literally extended my season by a month. Ive tried other brand jackets but none come even close. The great thing is its not bulky either. Cant recommend this more highly!
