“The turkey rolls arrived packaged well, easily cooked, and frankly were delish. It could have been easier to brown in the oven as well. The only reason it gets a 4 star rating from me is the associated costs. The shipping cost was prohibitive as far as I was concerned.
I understand why it is an expensive item to ship but it surprises you how much at checkout.
I would imagine many people back out of the transaction at the checkout.”
“I was having company for Christmas and I needed help... (need both hips replaced). I do not like turkey myself, but my guests were great Southerner cooks and was worried our traditional Christmas dishes (PORK & stuffed cabbage) might not cut it.
The turkey was fine, easy to cook & serve, but personally, I found the stuffing overpowering, kind of sweet with too much sage. I thought it just was not a happy combination. And there is A LOT of stuffing... But they (polite, nice people) liked it; so much so that they got all the left-over roll to take home. (I do NOT like turkey...).
Well, they also took home my stuffed cabbage and the pork sausage and the sides, which I made myself (inspired by the expensive ones sold here: stuffed portabellas, phillo asparagus & bacon wrapped Brussels sprouts). So I assume the turkey was a "success" considering they did not want the left-over Kobe meatloaf, also from Mackenzie (which, I personally enjoyed more than the turkey).
Go figure... tastes are as diverse as people.”
