“For years I've had wonderful success with MacKenzie appetizers. The Beef Wellington was my first purchase of their entrees. It was WONDERFUL!! The puff pastry was nice and flaky. The mushroom and onion duxelle was perfect. The steak was juicy and tasted as if I just taken it off the grill!
It's hard to believe that I took a hard frozen brick of a Beef Wellington directly from my freezer to my oven. And then 30 minutes it was a perfect elegant dinner.

“The suggested cooking instructions are useless for this product. It needs to be defrosted first. The product is nicely produced and packaged, but it is always a challenge cooking beef wellington. The goal is to get the beef pink on the inside and the exterior crust golden. I think you should experiment carefully with cooking this product and revise your suggested preparation.”

“I only cooked 2 of the four in the box. One of them turned our perfectly and the other one was a much thinner piece of beef and was overcooked. You might want to make sure that each piece of beef is of equal size. The taste was delicious.”
“I ordered the individual Beef Wellingtons for our small Christmas dinner. They were so easy, elegant, and delicious; I served with a simple potato and fresh carrots and green beans.
The pastry crisped up nicely at 400, but the filet was a little more done than I usually serve it. I think next time ( and there will be a next time) I'll raise the heat some and cook for 25 minutes. Mushroom duxelles was delicious. We did not find the Wellington was salty as has been suggested, but the rest of the meal was simply seasoned so there was a perfect balance of richness and natural flavors.”
