We have purchased several entrees, sides and sweets in the past and have been very satisfied with our meals. However, that was not the case with our Beef Wellington. We had the same outcome as Jeanne L reported. Dough was under-cooked and the beef tough as nails. I think the problem with the dish is that the instructions say cook the meat frozen. I think it would be better to defrost the meat first before cooking.

Very tasty, will reorder for special occasions. The meat was tender and the pastry crispy. No complaints.

Ordered 8 individual Beef Wellingtons for Christmas Day and New Years Day. Getting pastry to brown and keeping beef to medium to medium rare was impossible. When beef was the perfect temp, the pastry was still raw and ha fly browned. The beef was a little tough also. Would never order this again. I made two batches over a week and tried again the second time to no avail. Same problem. The pastry top was doughy when the beef was 140 degrees, which was already overdone. If you like well done beef, this item will be fine for you.

For years I've had wonderful success with MacKenzie appetizers. The Beef Wellington was my first purchase of their entrees. It was WONDERFUL!! The puff pastry was nice and flaky. The mushroom and onion duxelle was perfect. The steak was juicy and tasted as if I just taken it off the grill! It's hard to believe that I took a hard frozen brick of a Beef Wellington directly from my freezer to my oven. And then 30 minutes it was a perfect elegant dinner. I can't wait to try other entrees soon!
