The only component I would rate high were the crab cakes.”
“Although the onset of COVID for me and my husband wasn't planned, we are so glad that we planned ahead and ordered this delicious meal for our Christmas Day dinner. Our appetites weren't what they usually are, so what we received lasted for two dinners! We had half of the appetisers each night. The filet the first night and the crabcake the next. The stuffed baked potatoes the first night and the dessert the next. It was more than enough to brighten our "under the weather" situation and our first experience with Mackenzie products.
The cooking instructions were spot on and everything cooked up nicely. Almost everything was delicious. The crabcake wasn't quite what we hoped for, but I think that the best crabcakes are the fresh ones, never frozen, served hot from the kitchen. The crabcakes were well presented and nicely seasoned. We were not disappointed under the circumstances. We might order this meal again. In any case, we are looking forward to ordering another special dinner some time this year.”
“Would not order again. The filet was off flavor as if it had been unfrozen for awhile and then refrozen. Almost wondered if it was spoiled. The crab cake was just ok, nothing really good. I’ve had much better. The baked potato (sour cream & chives) had a very good flavor, but was a little dry and also was tiny. But the great flavor would inspire me to make them myself. The molten chocolate cake was delicious with vanilla ice cream, but I can get the same thing at the grocery store. The pastry blossoms were very good. A dozen was more than one would need for dinner for two, but are easily enjoyed at another time since frozen individually.”
