“I am in agreement with Marjorie's review. This French Onion soup was a huge disappointment to me, and I had high hopes after enjoying Mackenzie's smoked salmon. I expect a rich beef broth base when I eat French Onion soup, and the vegetarian base of this version did not taste good. We will not be eating the other container of this soup and would not order it again.”
“Been looking for this soup for some time as our Costco doesn't carry. Not disappointed. I think anyone not impressed should follow preferred method of cooking. Add a crusty side of bread and it's a perfect dinner.”
“I am amazed that others gave this French Onion Soup high praise. I am disappointed in its taste, texture, and overall presentation. Maybe part of that is due to the fact that there is no beef in the stock; it is a vegetarian offering. Perhaps it is the slimy things that are referred to as croutons that allegedly are on top of this soup. Perhaps I am simply spoiled from having made this soup from scratch using homemade stock and home-made croutons. Because I no longer have the time to devote to this long process, I opted to try this pre-made offering, I think it's not worth heating the oven to 400 degrees and then baking the item for 40 minutes. I do not recommend it and I will not be ordering it again.”
