The taste was good but less pastry would help, and maybe heavier on the mushrooms.

This didn't come close to even meeting my expectations. Aside from the instructions being 100% wrong (there's zero chance that in 20-22 minutes they ever turn brown at 400 degrees), this dish is all dough and a sliver of meat with an even smaller amount of mushroom duxelle. The meat is consistent - consistently bland tasting and had an odd smell to it. I wasn't horrible but just "odd" and I could never put my finger on it. I had enough for three separate meals. The first time I took them out after 30 minutes and they never browned. The second time I put them on the second rack, heated them up for 35 minutes, saw they were still doughy looking and gave them another five minutes and then finally they looked and tasted a little bit more like they should. I hate to make a comparision but the only way I think I can illustrate this is to use the dough you get in a can - it starts out looking like dough and has a bit of a sheen to it. It retains that sheen until it starts to brown and then you get that flaky feel/taste. That's what happens here but then the meat on the inside was overcooked and had even less flavor than the first time I heated them up. I still have a few more to try so I'm either going to enjoy the meat or the dough but not sure how to enjoy both. I won't order this again and if there's anything I'm glad about it's that I didn't spend twice as much to get a regular sized dish because then I would have been really upset at how it turned out. This is a good lesson though as to why, when something is more than $20 a portion, it doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be good. The biggest disappointment is that for the money, they can't even give you accurate directions on how to cook it?

We offered these little Beef Wellingtons to our guests for a small gathering on new Year's Eve. Everyone loved them. We also served two other items from MaCeenzie'ss catalogue. The cheese brioche and the Greek Spinakopia. We would order them again next time. We warmed them up the next night with similar results. The beef was better the second day . The others were best served hot and fresh. thanks so much!
