“I’m looking at my new Carbon GT and my first thoughts are good. This is my second Marchand watch having previously secured the Driver Chronograph MKII blue reverse panda and being thoroughly impressed by it.
The watch itself looks great and the carbon bezel and dial really do give it the look of luxury. Add to this the clear individually style sub-dials along with the good luminescence and the overall impression is of a watch at a considerably more expensive price point.
I know the Seiko VK63 movement as I have it in some of my other watches. It’s solid, reliable and accurate, and ideally suited to the Carbon GT.
Once again Marchand have paid attention to the detail, as not only the front of the watch racy and attractive the reverse is too. The etching of the chequered flag and the Marchand ‘M’ is well done and adds to the overall sporty look of the watch.
Any negatives? Only one. Out of the box the first thing I noticed was the overall weight. It’s not a small watch and it certainly fills the wrist, but it’s heavy thanks to a bracelet that doesn’t do it any favours for that’s where the weight is. I had the foresight to include in my order the black and red rally strap and it proved a wise move. Not only does the excessive weight disappear but it looks so much better than the bracelet. I think the black steel bracelet doesn’t really suit the watch and cheapened its feel somewhat. Others may disagree but that’s my opinion.
As with my Driver Mk II reverse Panda I am delighted with the Carbon GT Chronograph. Well done Marchand.”
