“This was a really fun one for me to complete. I really like the fact that my completed painting looks just like the one pictured.
And the canvas quality is really nice; much more so than other canvases I've ordered from other vendors. My sister said it reminds her of Kalaloch Beach in Washington State, where she and her husband used to stay on their anniversary each year until 2007. Sadly, it was during their stay at that time in 2007 when she learned of her 24-year old son's death. As devastating as it was to receive that news, she also shared with me that the motel they stayed at had journals in each room for their guests to leave notes in. Those journals stayed in the rooms so that future guests could read what had been written and leave their own notes. My sister left a note of her son's death in their journal and had so much support from the local community there as well. I know she has positive memories of Kalaloch Beach and I will gift her my painting of this scene for her birthday next month.
