“My youngest brother, an electrician, was assigned to the financial building across from the towers on in 2001. He had coffee with his buddies each morning and on 9/11, he headed across to his assignment, they went into the towers where they were assigned. He never saw them again. When the towers were hit, he came out to see the horror and stared for a minute and then headed on foot away from it all. He ran/walked as fast and far as he could. Remarkably someone he knew saw him and drove him home to Dutchess County about 2 hrs away.
He lived with nightmares and constant fear. He then got a dog who slept next to his bed and calmed his fears. He lost his buddy, Dozer, during COVID last year. For his 60th birthday, on 9/12, I gave him this tribute. Now his buddy will always keep an eye on my brother. Thanks for helping me do this. I have zero art talent.”
