“Got my first Melin hats a couple of weeks before I got my XL version. Personally I like the style of the hydro so when I saw the XL come out I had to snag it. I do actually have a bigger head than most so I figured why not. And actually the two regular hydro I got actually still fit me perfect. I use these hats at work in a factory it gets hot and dirty but these hats are so awesome. My head doesn’t get hot like with most hats I have tried. “I have a size 7.75-8 head. I have 4 extra "buttons" to make this hat bigger. Can't remember the last time I was on anything but the last one.
The depth of the hat is similar to my Melin Thermal (ie there is a similar amount of skin between the bottom of the hat and where my ear attaches to my head. I get lots of compliments on the black hat.”

I’m traditionally a fitted 7 5/8 in New Era Deep Crowns and will never be the same after buying this hat. Originally bought the Hydro Icon which wasn’t deep enough and looked a bit funny. Was hesitant to buy the XL as it’s advertised as size 8 and above. Couldn’t be happier with the decision to upgrade to the XL.
