The Army Recessed Medallion Chestnut Cremation Urn honors the person who proudly served in the United States Army. This urn is made from select grade solid red oak and red alder finished with a rich chestnut stain. Cremains are loaded through the bottom by removing the screws and plate. A plastic liner is provided to place the cremains into prior to placing them in the urn. The urn has a color embossed military medallion recessed into the wood. The Army medallion is actually a metallic gold color which does not come across very well in the photo. The urn can be personalized by adding name, birth and passing dates, military rank or a loving remark such as Loving Husband and Father. The engraving will be in a cream color which shows up much better than black on the chestnut stained wood. The roses and ivy noted in the photo are used for photographic purposes only and not included with the urn. This urn is also available with an optional memorial chest add-on. This can be used as a place to keep mementos (i.e. insignias, medals, ribbons, and photos) of your loved one, while the separate lower area is a cremation urn. The chest is lined with a hunter green felt flocking. The standard depth of the memory chest area is about 1.5" deep. The lid has two hidden solid brass hinges and a solid brass friction latch. Please note the reduction of space for cremains with the addition of the memorial chest.
