I have used the Geovid HD-B for several years now, primarily for shooting long range in both competition and for recreational shooting/hunting. The optics are superb and flawless. The ergonomics are supreme. The ballistic interface software is well conceived and intuitive to use when you are loading your ballistic profile to the SD card. The laser range finder can provide ballistic solutions as advertised out to approximately 1,000 yards; although, if you are unable to hold steady while taking the measurement, you may not receive a reading. Also, the batteries must be fresh, so the user is advised to keep a fresh set available in the field - and this battery is NOT a CR 123 but another variant that may not be easy to come by, but can be easily located and purchased from battery stores. I have used the Sig Kilo prototype (got to try it out at a PRS event a year ago - thanks Doc Beech), and while the KILO is superior in both laser range finding (distance and speed) and has the onboard AB solver (the best), the KILO will never match the Leica's 10X42 optical glass (nor does it pretend to). I would say the Geovid's best niche is hunting, where you will have the time to take these 'smart' binos to the control range, with your rifle and intended round, to fine tune and confirm the solutions. Also realize that the Geovid is best suited to shots you would take at 1,000 yards and under. I have owned and used a-lot of binoculars, including Zeiss, Meoptra, Swarovski, and Steiner. I prefer the 10X42 Geovids HD-Bs to all of them.
