This blackout blind kit will provide complete blackout when applied correctly to the window. They can be hung either way on your window and can be cut to size with no hemming required (no fray material). Everything required to hang the easy night blinds is included in the kits.
This particular type of blackout blind is also easy to take on holidays with you to help maintain routine. There are a number of sizes available up to 3m x 1.45m in size. Just cut it to fit your window shape, or cut in half to create two smaller blinds for little windows.
We love the silver outward facing backing that reflects the sunlight, reducing the heat absorbed through the window. This helps keep your room cool and means this product will last longer.
How does it work?
Measure your window and work out the size you need to cover the entire window. Aim to leave a 2cm margin all the way around to help make sure there are no gaps for light to shine through.
Cut your blackout blind to fit the measured window (they can go in any direction, or even be cut into 2 smaller pieces to fit 2 smaller windows)
Attach the Valcro to the cut blackout blind at regular intervals (especially at the top and sides to help keep it flush against the window
Attach the suction cups to the valcro with the suction facing outwards
Position the blackout blind against the window and press the suction cups onto the window to attach securely (this can be easier with two people for larger windows!)
You can then detatch the valcro from the suction cups to easily remove (but leave the suction cups in place to easily reattach when it's sleep time!)
Now includes removable adhesive strips so you can attach to UPVC Window Frames.
If you're planning to use the blinds permanently you might prefer to use the hook valcro adhesive strips instead of the suction cups. Follow the steps above, but instead of using suction cups against the window, use the adhesive strips against the window frame for complete coverage.
The blind can still be easily taken down, but the adhesive strips remain in place ready for the next usage.
Please note that the manufacturers do not recommend using this on wooden window frames as the adhesive strips may cause the paint to come off when removing at the end of use.
