“This is my second LAMY fountain pen - a replacement after 15 years of using my first LAMY. This new model has a great feel, weight, grip and smooth writing action with uninterrupted ink flow. Very impressed.”
“I have several Lamy pens, all with EF nibs, this particular one (al-star) writes like F or even M sometimes, using the same ink on same type of paper. I wonder if it can be fixed or adjusted under warranty?”
Hello Renny,
We're sorry to hear the LAMY Al-star isn't writing as smoothly as expected. If you're finding ink is drying with a fountain pen, it's likely to be a result of ink that has dried in the nib/feed. The best way to ensure a fountain pen is running smoothly is to give it a clean every now and then; you can find a handy guide to cleaning the Al-star here: https://www.lamyshop.com.au/media/wysiwyg/caretips/18_Cleaning_and_Care_Cartridge_Fountain_Pen.mp4
We hope this helps! If you find the issue is persisting, please send us an email to hello@milligram.com and we'll try our best to find a solution!
“The Lamy Safari is a design classic, and the Al-Star version builds on this status by offering the pen that we all know and love in an aluminium body. Either one would make a great fountain pen for travel or day-to-day use, but the durability of the metal version gives it an edge over its plastic cousin. If you’re a seasoned fountain pen user, the Al-Star makes a great daily writer, if you’re a fountain pen novice, this pen is a great place to start. Lamy fountain pens are well made, and ergonomically sound. Oh, and they look good, too. The range is large, so there’s bound to be something for everyone. This one is my sixth Lamy fountain pen. For their price, and what they are, I can’t fault them.”
