“I bought the Lamy Gift pack for my dad and he absolutely loved the pen. I had bought an AL Star Fountain Pen some months ago; the pen has a really nice grip, perfect weight (metal) and the medium size nib is the right pen thickness for me. The ink flows at an even rate, no smudges or ink blobs and the nib is very smooth. The cap locks perfectly and does not leak. I also like the clip on the cap. There is a choice of other size nibs and either ink cartridges or an ink converter. While mine is aqua in colour, I chose the silver pen for my dad. I tested the Lamy Safary models but did not like the plastic pen body. The Lamy Al Star is a great, all round fountain pen at a very reasonable price, the gift pack is the perfect present or starter pack.”
