“Struggle to fill this without getting ink everywhere and have to have about three goes before the ink starts sucking up. Love the concept, and will bear with it. I am sure it is just my incompetence rather than the product
:-)”
Hello Fiona,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on using the LAMY Z27 converter and we're sorry to hear your experience with using this product along with the T52 fountain pen ink has been a little messy!
The best way to use the converter is by installing it into the front section of the pen, then dipping the nib into the ink to draw in ink that way. You can find a handy video guide to using LAMY converters here: https://www.lamyshop.com.au/media/wysiwyg/caretips/2_Filling_Converters.mp4. Once you've filled the converter with ink, you can use the blotting paper which is conveniently stored at the base of the T52 ink bottle to soak up any excess ink that's around the nib/feed. Giving the front section and converter a flush with water every now and then will also help with maintaining your LAMY pen and converter over time - you can find a guide for that here: https://www.lamyshop.com.au/media/wysiwyg/caretips/19_Cleaning_and_Care_Fountain_Pen_with_Converter.mp4 :)
We hope this helps, Fiona! If you have any questions at all, or if there's anything we can do to assist further, please let us know :)
“I bought one of these to use in a transparent LAMY safari. I know they're listed as incompatible, but they aren't, and I just had to write this review to let anyone curious know. If you like the look of this one better, buy it, it's the same price for a better look - especially good if you have a transparent pen like me!”
