“It feels silly to review a diary at this stage in human history, but I’m passionate about this specific diary because I’m a huge nerd for good design. It’s my fifth or sixth year now of buying one of these diaries! This diary is small, like—wallet sized, and it has a hard cover which means it can survive a real thrashing after months in backpacks and tote bags. The thing I love about these diaries is the two column layout, where you have the weekdays on the left and then a blank ruled page on the right. I usually keep a to do list on the right, but it’s flexible—I can take notes, do a little sketch, make a progress chart to fill out as I get up to a deadline. It’s like the easy mode of bullet journaling; I don’t have to write in every day myself, but I have space to work to the requirements of every different week. There’s also spare note pages at the back, which are really handy! There’s definitely dead weight I would jettison from these diaries (I don’t need a “goals for the year” or a time zone or travel planner, but I keep coming back to the good size and sturdy construction and smart layout every year.”
