“I must be doing something wrong. This sharpener doesn't seem to do anything more than its cheaper 2-step sister sharpener. I can't get it to provide what it purports, ie., a sharp and slightly angled point. I can't get it to sharpen at all. I used it on my Blackwing pencil with no results. I was hoping it would also work with my other pencils but still no results. I can't understand why it was a people's choice winner. The only reason I bought it was because of the high-value other customers placed on it. Is it possible mine is a dud?”
“The shape/profile of the sharpened lead is curved - so it doesn’t quickly blunt. If you have experience with hollow ground knife blades you’ll understand the comparison. Also it sits upright on the desk and because it is a barrel it is a natural movement to pick it up with the left hand and sharpen the pencil with a few quick twists. Much more ergonometric than the other sharpeners including same brand ones.”
