CON-40 Fountain Pen Ink Converter Reviews

4.1 Rating 14 Reviews
Used in three Pilot Parallel pens. No leaks, no ink flow issues. Quick loading and simple cleaning. I highly recommend for anyone with a compatible pen.

The ink flows fine, the product fits one and seems to be of good quality. The agitators are a nice touch. When you first get it though, it doesn't seem to take in much ink. You kind of need to spend a bit of time messing around with it to get it to house a good amount of ink. Maybe if it came with some instructions that would help? Oh well, if you have time to mess around with it then its not an issue. Still beats creating more plastic waste with the 1-use cartridges.

Fits my metropolitan well, however it will not fill fully or even to half capacity. Despite this ink flow has been ok so far.

Hello Muirenn, Thank you for your honest feedback and rating on the Pilot converter. Sorry to hear that this converter does not fill completely. We recommend you try filling, emptying and refilling the converter several times keeping the nib submerged in ink. This will help minimise air bubbles that may form within the converter. Hope this helps!

I bought one of these to throw in my Pilot Metropolitan - I don't like the squeeze converter it comes with, because I can't see how much ink is in that one, and I forget to fill it. Unfortunately, the four ball bearings inside - supposed to mix the ink - are rather audible at times. If I tilt my pen, or flip it from nib up to nib down (from my pocket to my page), they rattle. While they do not impede the ink flow, it is a tad annoying to hear. The other thing is that it doesn't really fill too well (whilst this is probably my fault, it's still worth mentioning), and whenever I have filled with it, a sizeable air bubble forms. Whilst this can usually be solved by holding the pen nib-up, and compressing the piston to remove the air, this simply resulted in the expulsion of ink through the filler hole, and several drips - even though I wound it slowly. All in all though, it does what it's supposed to, and I can't ask for more. If you plan on using this in a quiet setting though, make sure the rattle won't annoy you. Otherwise, no major flaws in my opinion.
