If you need to paint armies fast you NEED this! It's not going to be the same level of quality on your mini if you're painting a display piece. For table ready gaming minis however this is a HUGE time saver!

All the colors in the set behave better than GW contrast paints. They also come with mixing balls in the bottles already. Highly recommended.

These paints have been phenomenal. They are a little wetter than I would like, bug I can’t complain because they paint, shade, and highlight in 1 - 2 coats. I recommend these to all my friends that paint minis.

My biggest problem with the speedpaints is the colors bleed though other paints even after several days of curing. Because of this you need to paint a varnish over them to continue painting. I have found that at least one color, the blue, tends to come off when you apply varnish to it, so the paints are a bit of a pain. I wanted to recommend these paints to my friends that are new painters but there is no way I can recommend them to new painters.

The Speedpaint from Army Painter is exactly what I need to finish painting my miniature collections so I can finally get those games back to the table. I've been sitting on Marvel Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Legion and Imperial Assault forever because once I had a few competently painted figures, I hated playing the games with the figures in the flat plastic colors they came in. These paints are great, especially as someone who has gained some basic painting skills, but stalls on getting going becuase of the amount of time it takes. Speedpaint got me a Jabba the Hutt Imperial Assault figure I was thrilled with in 5 minutes. Most take closer to 30-45 minutes with the amount of detail and highlighting I like, but I am so impressed with this stuff. it will also make the terrain a sinch to get covered and to the table. If you are wondering about it, you should definitely pick up this starter set and give it a try. It might be the best investment you make in getting those projects that have been standing by forever, finally finished and on the table.

Great effects and easy to apply. I wouldn't use this as my only paint on a figure. need to apply varnish over speed painted figure in order to do Amy edge highlighting or to paint over at all. The speed paint "reactivate" if not sealed in first. I tried and the speed paints would bleed through the newly applied paint.
