I usually use the gloss clear sleeves for my games. But, I will say the regular sleeves tend to slid over if stacked tall enough and i was hoping that a matte sleeve would stay stacked, so I tried these out. Plus, Arcane Tinmen have an excellent reputation for sleeves, even if this is a new offering. I sleeved a few sets of cards, specifically ones that are stacked taller, and went gaming. I liked theses sleeves a lot. Although the matte plastic makes the graphics less clear and sharp visually, one can still read text and see the graphics well enough. The sleeved cards have a very nice feel in-hand. They mash-shuffle very well - better than I though since I expected the extra friction would be a problem. It's not. The box is rigid card stock, meant to store your sleeved cards, whereas most sleeves come in plastic bags that usually split and no one would use for game storage. I couldn't fit a full 50 cards in the box once sleeved, but I imagine for thinner cards, you might be able to do so. I had decks that took fewer cards for a given stack, so the box makes hand sorting and storage. The fit was very accurate using "Standard" size on regular CCG / Poker sized cards. FFG is famous for having the extra few mm above the card. The Tinmen sleeves ended uniformly around the cards I used. The protection seemed excellent. Obviously. small scratches won't appear on a matte surface they way they would on clear gloss sleeves. Overall, I have been very impressed with them. They are not for everything, for example if you really want the print and graphics to pop, but, for games that take several stacks that you'd rather not have sliding over as much, or, cards that make up the play surface, or hold tokens on them and you want to reduce slipping, these area good choice. I did note that with the matte finish, you had to look a bit closer at the text, but in play I never noticed any problems. It might add a margin of privacy if that's important in your games. I can't think of an example, but the matte finish might obscure details from a stray glance from the side.
