The newer plastic mechs for Battletech are a joy to work with and this particular pack features one of my favorites...the imposing Summoner! These packs are a truly great value and add a lot of tactical flexibility to my ever-growing Clan froces.

I really enjoy this line of miniatures from CGL. They are well-built, beautiful sculpts and they take paint very nicely. My best results have been using Citadel black spray primer.

I picked up the Battletech Clan expansions for the miniatures. I fell in love with Battletech through Mechwarrior 2, a few of the old novels, and the short-lived Virtual World centers in the 90's. I've been excited to paint up some battlemechs since then, but the models were always kind of fiddly and expensive. These new packs from Catalyst feel like just what I've been looking for. The minis are well-built, well-detailed, iconic omni mech designs. They're larger than your standard 32mm miniature, but not TOO large, and they come at a decent price-per model. I've seen a few complaints that these are based on the slightly redesigned versions of the mechs from MechWarrior Online, but they're close enough to scratch that nostalgia itch for me. They are a slightly softer plastic; softer than GW but stiffer than Bones. This means that there's just the tiniest bit of a bend on a few of the bits, such as the arms on a few of the models, but it's only noticeable if you're really looking for it and it would probably be fixable with a bit of hot water anyway. They're packaged well enough that even this minor issue isn't common on the ones I got. I haven't started painting them yet, but the surface feels like it might not need a primer. I didn't think I would actually play the game much, on account of how long it can take, but the Alpha Strike rules variant looks promising. There's a free quick start for that play style available on Catalyst's website.

I’m impressed with the new versions of classic Clan Mechs. Bigger, meaner, more detailed. These minis made me a fan of plastic over the old metal minis. These details are nice. Great minis at a very reasonable price. Recommended!

Very sturdy miniatures, plastic feels like a sturdy board game piece. These are a awesome alternative to Iron Winds Metals variants if pewter minis scare you. They come preassembled with stat cards if Alpha Strike is your play style. Those inner sphere dogs will never know what hit them!

You get a hefty amount of Clan Mechs with this Force Pack. It is worth repeating from other Force Pack reviews that these printed minis look amazing with really only a little bit of flash to clean up in some cases (though you could find a factory defect too; but they should be far and few between). Otherwise a great price to get Mechs on the table even compared to older editions of the game.
