While the miniatures are generally acceptable, there are some casting issues. Some major mold slips in 2 of the 5 models and general loss of detail in areas make these somewhat difficult to recommend. However, at the price point it's selling at, I generally can't complain.

The detailing on these newer plastic figures is simply outstanding! These packs, for the price, are a truly excellent way to bolster your collection.

I picked up the Battletech Clan expansions for the miniatures. I fell in love with Battletech through Mechwarrior 2, a few of the old novels, and the short-lived Virtual World centers in the 90's. I've been excited to paint up some battlemechs since then, but the models were always kind of fiddly and expensive. These new packs from Catalyst feel like just what I've been looking for. The minis are well-built, well-detailed, iconic omni mech designs. They're larger than your standard 32mm miniature, but not TOO large, and they come at a decent price-per model. I've seen a few complaints that these are based on the slightly redesigned versions of the mechs from MechWarrior Online, but they're close enough to scratch that nostalgia itch for me. They are a slightly softer plastic; softer than GW but stiffer than Bones. This means that there's just the tiniest bit of a bend on a few of the bits, such as the arms on a few of the models, but it's only noticeable if you're really looking for it and it would probably be fixable with a bit of hot water anyway. They're packaged well enough that even this minor issue isn't common on the ones I got. I haven't started painting them yet, but the surface feels like it might not need a primer. I didn't think I would actually play the game much, as I don't often have time for longer games these days, but the Alpha Strike rules variant looks promising. There's a free quick start for that play style available on Catalyst's website.

BattleTech is an amazing game and this just brings it to the next level. I wish I could buy more but do not have the money... If you are into the game I would say that this is a must buy!

Great models for the price, and the stat dheets are even cooler. Make your heavy battle lance with all these mechs or fill out a heavy suppirt role in your next campaign
