This game is fantastic. It's simple to learn but there are a lot of interesting decisions to make. After initially learning the game, I left it setup on the table and played 3-4 times every night for a week. The basic game is excellent and the campaign really adds to the replayability. There is a lot of game in the box. Definite Recommend.

Quick set up and go gameplay that makes you think about every choice you make and the repercussions of your actions. Highly recommend for any solo gamer.

With the previous year being what it was, I started to look for more solo games. This one intrigued me and after playing the intro I am sold. This game has a good amount of puzzle and strategy that no game can play the same. I like the rules and how simple, yet complex, they can be. I feel like I am doing ok with staving off the aliens, and then all of a sudden I am in over my head.

I played the print and play many, many times and had to get the real thing. I wanted to support the company but WOW so much content in this box. It's the same as the print n play but like X 1000!

Under Falling Skies is an excellent single player game. I've tried a few single player board games over the past year and most of them fell a bit flat but this one has a great mix of strategy and quick setup/play time that's perfect for me. The core mechanic involves placing dice to activate rooms in your base to fend off an incoming fleet of enemy ships. Higher dice give you stronger results from your base, however they also cause the enemy ships above that room to advance faster. Balancing this is a fun and tricky puzzle. The campaign mode, which unlocks new base configurations and scenarios does a great job of keeping things fresh and exciting and leaves you with many more options for your standard non-campaign games when you are finished. The components are sturdy and look great, although the plastic enemy ships are surprisingly pointy which may be of concern if you have any small children or pets with a propensity for putting small things in their mouth. The amount of table space the game takes up is a little strange, it's very narrow and vertical. You don't need much horizontal space, but you need about two feet of uninterrupted vertical space. It works great on a small card table, not so much on a TV tray. Ultimately, if you're looking for a fun solitaire game that you can play through in about a half-hour including setup, I highly recommend Under Falling Skies. Easily my favorite solo packaged board game I've purchased.

The game is fairly quick to setup and tear down. The retail version offers more content and component quality than the print and play. Difficulty can also be adjusted depending on how hard you want to think about the game.
