With Core 3 out now, this one is a bit outdated. Especially with only one set - it doesn't come with enough copies of most of the cards. However, it's fully compatible with the latest one... bought it on sale and it's a nice way to get some extra copies of some of the high-use basic cards, and if that's what you're looking for this is a good buy.

As an introduction to the LCG, this is a decent start. It only supports 2 players, but you can easily expand to more with expansions. Despite being a story-heavy game there is plenty of ways to change up the experience to keep it fresh, plus a wealth of expansions are available.

Perfect starting point. You may need 2 boxes to get the best experience.

Great game, we are big fans of Mansions of Madness , this is a much lighter and shorter version basically. If you want to play with more than 2 players, though, you’ll need to buy two copies of this edition. I believe they release a revised edition that lets you play 4 player just with one pack of the core game

I like the game a lot although I find it always limiting. You always want more and more because designers did limited and punishing it intentionally. It is an essential and not essential. You need the cards within and tokens, but the scenario is quite bland. Rules are quite difficult, the separated glossary makes it more confusing. You have to play it a lot of times to understand (or watch videos, but some have also mistakes)

Anything AH or Fantasy flight games is awesome and this title did not disappoint. Ranked very highly on BGG, too.

Played this with 4 players with some friends by combining 2 base games. It was a little time consuming with 4, but still very enjoyable. I can see how it is more suitable for 2 players due to turn lengths

If you're on the fence about arkham horror, there's enough in this box to get you a feel for what the game is like. It could have a stronger campaign but it's enough that it got me interested in buying in.
