“Please ignore previous review. Definitely a foot in mouth moment. After learning more about the rules of how squadrons work in Armada vs X-wing. I want to say this expansion is well needed in playing Armada.”

“Nice upgrade. Would have preferred it have 3 tie bomber squadron instead of two. And reduce the Tie Advanced to one and make it a single Tie Advanced flanked by two ties, so it is a dedicated Vader squadron.”

“This pack could honestly be just two squadrons of TIE Interceptors and be worth it. Interceptors are THE best fighter the Empire has to counter the hard hitting bombers of the Alliance. Also you're gonna be hard pressed to find another fighter as capable as the TIE/In at humiliating X-Wings. Totally worth the price of admission just for the interceptors. Model quality over all is OK. They're tiny so can't expect much detail but good amount for what you get. Painting would be nice but lets be honest, this game is about the capital ships not the fighters. If you want detailed fighters play X-wing or dip these guys in a quick wash and hit the solar collectors with a black dry brush. Durability on all the fighters is good, however, the TIE/Ln (standard TIE fighter) has very delicate connections at the wings to the pod. These can snap easily if you try to insert the model onto the tree by holding the wings. Solution to this that I have found is to grip the fighter front to back with your fingers and insert into the tree that way. Takes the stress off the wing connections. Overall the pack is great, got some truly classic Imperial fighters here, they look good they fight good and Vader just looks badass flying towards some rebs with two squadrons of Advanced TIE's on his wing!!”

“I'm slowly beginning to understand the importance of squadrons in Armada. At first glance they seemed like a nice little throw in mechanic, but in the right hands they can be truly terrifying. These base squadrons are a must have for imperial players. Like most other people, I wish these were painted, or at least hit with a wash. They are small but I think FFG could have done something to up the perceived quality of these ships.”

“Prove the might of the empire by sending forth massive waves of TIE Fighters and other fighters of the TIE family. An excellent addition to any fleet, when combined with game play against an opponent who have the rebel squadrons expansion pack, you get a full sense of heart throbbing fleet action and destruction. I wish they came pre-painted honestly, but other than that, The Imperial Fighter Squadrons Expansion pack is a definite must have.”

“The Imperial Fighter Squadrons Expansion adds 3 new squadron types to your Armada possibilities: Tie Interceptors, TIE Advanced, and TIE Bombers - and includes 2 additional TIE Fighter Squadrons (8 total). Each squadron type contains the basic squad and the option for a unique/elite pilot. For fans of X-Wing, these pilots are going to feel quite familiar. While squads are great for random builds or quick lists, the jury is still out on how many dedicated squadron[s] to keep on your list (some tournament lists include 0 fighters - while others rely on swarm after swarm). With Wave 2 coming out, this is likely to change. Component quality is exceptional - as always with FFG. No, the minis are not painted, but the detail is quite good and you get quite a lot of bits - compared to what 1 X-wing mini expansion comes with.”

“A great little addition, all the fighters in the box have uses in Armada depending on what you need. As others have mentioned, the only problem is that the box only comes with two of each - so get two boxes!”
