They are good for storing minis. I had to glue the foam to the base on half of them.

These are the bigger storage trays for your larger models. I used the ones for tanks and more fragile models with a lot of the thin parts. For whatever reason, these plucks are much better than the smaller trays. Plucking the spots might be more difficult given the depth of the spaces to remove it out of. I like these a lot more than the 2.5 in trays as they are more easier to work with.

This is the foam tray you want for your Star Wars Legion AT-ST models (1 fits per tray) or your T-47 Airspeeders (2 fit per tray), as the models' bases fit well within the tray height, and the models can be turned to not reach above the tray. I especially like the cubed divisions in the tray that let you create a snug, but not too snug, home for the larger size Legion pieces.

I got the 4" high trays for use with Star Wars Armada ships. Since the bigger ones are $30-$40 a pop, I knew I needed a storage and transport solution for them. I ran into these trays and figured, eh, for the price, why not give them a shot. I was blown away by the value. They are VERY well made and yes, you won't get the precise fit as say some of the foam trays from other companies that are custom cut, I can get two trays for the cost of one and the end result is QUITE satisfactory. I also bought these with the MM army case, and I can fit four 4" trays per bag. Note, virtually all Armada ships fit either horizontally or vertically, except for the ISD's. If they're placed sideways the side of the ship juts out at something like an inch or inch and a half, so they need to be placed horizontally. Also, for more rigidity of the walls, start pulling foam cubes two deep in. The extra cushioning really helps with keeping the side walls rigid.

The 4" trays are great because they can hold some of the bigger Warjacks/Warbeasts in your collection. I usually add custom bases to my figures so the extra height really helps. I can fit about 6 heavies in this tray which is about all you need for 2x 50 point lists if you're going to a tournament. The tray probably will not fit your Colossal/Grargantuan. You would need to lay the model on its side and then put an upside down 1.5" tray on top of it to keep it fully protected. While holding 6 Large Based models, the walls get kind of flimsy. It's still sturdy enough to hold the other foam that goes on top but the tray begins to bend if oyu pick it up. Over all it's a great size for Warmachine.

Ideal for your very large miniatures (is that an oxymoron?), making it a necessity for some collections.
