“This is a beautiful game with good quality cards but the rules and iconography are hard to follow. Once I figured out the rules I did have fun playing. However I'm left feeling like I want to do more actions and grow more than four plants so the game feels a little incomplete. It's such a cute game and there are so many unique cards but you don't get the chance to use them before the game is over.”
“Plantopia markets itself as a simplified version of race for the Galaxy the problem is that it is too simplified. You choices in the game are very limited especially because one of the actions is so much better than the others. All you should do on your turn is plant cards, the only reason you shouldn't is if you are out of cards (which should not happen given how easy it is to manage your hand size), or if the game is about to end and rather than planting something you can get more points for growing something else instead (because of scoring bonuses this almost never happens). The actual cards are way to similar and have too many duplicate copies which means you really don't get a lot of variety. The Weather system is interesting but in low player count games it is too random, and is something that is almost always going to work for everyone. Overall I do think the artwork is really cute and the flavour text is punderful, I really wanted to like this game but I don't.”

“The graphics are so cute, which is why I bought this game from the beginning, but game play was just ok. There seem to be some missing information from the instruction so I had to guess/ make up some rules by myself. Overall, I enjoy looking at the illustrations more than playing the game itself. So far I have only played the two people mode, maybe having more players will be more fun.”
