Hive pocket is the very same wonderful game we all love, but in a compact version. With all its pieces in a portable small cloth bag, this game can provide fun just about anywhere! This edition includes two bonus pieces, the Mosquito and the Ladybug expansions to the game which provide additional hours of fun! The object: To surround your opponent's queen bee while trying to block your opponents from doing the same. Each player has 13 tiles; representing different insects. “I bought this because I like to have small games for happy hour or restaurants. I’ve played maybe 10 times so far. It’s great to have a game with totally new strategies. It’s not like anything else I’ve played. And all you need to play are the tiles. Recommended.”

“If you are deciding which version to get, this one is the option. It has both expansions already in here included, and the size of the chips is still very good in my opinion. The material seems the same as the original version, so that shouldn't be an issue either.”

“If you like abstract strategy, you'll love Hive: Pocket Edition. This game always travels with me and you can play it on any flat surface, no board required. Carry it in the tiny pouch it comes with. You'd be surprised how many times you'll go back to this game if you have it in your collection.”

“This game is the epitome of simple to learn, difficult to master. It can be learned very quickly but the best part is the portability. The pocket edition is super compact so it can be played anywhere and comes with a pouch for easy transport. Despite their small size, the pieces are of excellent quality and weight. Games are short but never the same and are great for a quick coffee date. My wife and I have found a new favorite game.”

“Got this for my gf and I to play because of my love of chess but wanted something we could start from scratch on. Wow the simplicity and the fact thta you don't have a board is something I absolutely love. It's a very tight game with layers of strategy nestled into the pieces. Love seeing how the pieces and the 'hive' expand and contract on itself. Very pleased with quality. Don't see myself putting this one down for quite a while. If you like abstracts this is a MUST!”
