BlackBerry Priv Reviews

4.9 Rating 8 Reviews
The Priv is a little delicate to the touch, but is a smooth and sophisticated experience. The key pad is the reason I bought it, and although I miss the BBOS, I'm hapy to have a ton more apps to explore.

After reading a few negative comments on various forums I was a little unsure about the Priv but being a long time Blackberry user I decided to take the plunge and I have not been disappointed. The priv manages to combine all the benefits of Android without losing the Blackberry identity and logic. I am particularly impressed with the battery life which when used in saver mode is infinite. Quick, responsive and oozing build quality I can not recommend this phone enough and best of all, it is not an I phone.

I absolutely love my new Priv. I've used Blackberry's for some time and always preferred the qwerty keyboard, hence the purchase. However, the touch screen keyboard on the Priv is by far the best and most accurate I've used, so you don't necessarily need the qwerty but it's nice for nostalgia purposes! ( I've used various other android based and have an iPhone 6s for work, so I'm not being biased). The camera is superb, battery life is good and you have all the benefits of android to boot. One very slight criticism would be that there's no flash on the screen camera but being over forty I'm sure I'll live without night time selfies??

Build quality is not amazing neither is the camera but I definitely prefer it over my iPhone 6. Physical keyboard feels great. Phone looks very stylish. Battery life isn't amazing, but charge time even without quickcharger is very very quick.

The Priv has a lovely screen; large, bright and sharp. The slider feels really smooth and solid, and the device as a whole feels well built. Having a real keyboard again is a delight, after the autocorrect terrors of my previous, screen only, phone. For Bold and Q10 owners: the keyboard will feel familiar, but subtly different. It's flatter, to accommodate the slide action, and the key action isn't quite as perfect. It's still a very good keyboard though, and my typing speed is back up to full speed on it, with far fewer mistakes than on the screen keyboard. The BlackBerry Hub is great, giving most of the functionality BlackBerry users are used to and keeping all the messaging in one place. I've upgraded to the Priv from a Z10, so the move to Android is the biggest change for me. It hasn't been without issue, but I've found ways to get almost everything I loved on BlackBerry to work on Android. And of course Android now offers me the huge choice of apps I didn't have on BlackBerry. Battery life is good, if not to usual BlackBerry standards. Light use regularly sees me getting home with 60% life left. Busy days see me getting home with 30%-40% left. Heavy use, on that big screen, can hit it pretty hard though. Overall the Priv is an excellent phone and I'm well pleased with it.

I have always been a blackberry fan because of it's ease of use. With this blackberry priv, there is an added advantage for the fact that it's powered by android. The hub even makes it easiest to use as compared with other smart phones that has no hub, that is definitely a unique feature. It also has a unique shape as compared with other smart phones in its class, this shape is incomparable. I love this phone for it's uniqueness. I'm happy blackberry made their first android phone, this,I believe will put them back in business, particularly in the UK.
